about
Tal Arditi’s new single “I Wanna Cry” is a raw, unfiltered track written in the emotional aftermath of a breakup.
Struggling to find tears, but feeling his pain in a very real way, Tal channelled his inspiration into an acoustic ballad influenced by the poignant style of James Blake.
The track opens with a haunting melody as Tal laments, “I wanna cry, can’t get it out of me”. An acoustic chord loops, as lo-fi beats support Tal’s search for catharsis. Finally, in the bridge, we hear it the lyric where Tal gives himself permission to feel pain: “just let it flow”.
Tal Arditi’s “I Wanna Cry” is a testament to the transformative power of the ballad, of turning personal pain into a shared experience, and the universal struggle of moving on.
lyrics
I wanna cry
Can’t get it out of me
I wish I tried
A little harder
I wanna feel
The tears go down my cheek
The stream is blocked
I have no power
I think I needed your advice
To clean my soul and wet my eyes
Reveal the feeling I disguised
Reveal the feeling I disguised
I should have known
before you went away
What would it mean
To be so far
The empty walls
Are calling you to stay
You should have seen
How pale they were
The far end is too far for me
What else can I do to be free
I tricked myself till disbelief
I tricked myself till disbelief
Let it flow
Just let it go
Let it flow
Just let it go
I wanna cry
Can’t get it out of me
I wish I tried
A little harder
I wanna feel
The tears go down my cheek
Oh, the stream is blocked
I have no power
The far end is too far for me
Truth hurts when it's just you and me
I tricked myself till disbelief
I tricked myself till disbelief
I tricked myself till disbelief
